I can't and don't want to remember a time when Doug was not wearing that beautiful ear-to-ear grin. I still believe that it's contagious! Just a kind, wonderful, caring man and a huge loss to all of those who knew him. Keep smiling Doug, and have fun with those rapids I know you're kayaking right at this moment.
We love you and will miss you so so much.
Michelle, On behalf of Evan and Fischer as well.

May a warm light of healing spread over the valley as this had been a hard blow to all that have loved and laughed so many years with this old soul that had a light shining from him that we all wanted to be near.
I feel for you all and wish I could be there to help. Love........... Jan

Doug helped me through a very tough time, with kind words, and sincerity, I still remember the day he signed his own birthday card :O) Interior just won't be the same without hearing your voice Doug. I will miss hearing it...

Doug was one of the most complete human beings it was my privilege to know. Doug believed in everyone and always tried to understand others. I learned many lessons from Doug. I believe he was an angel among us who by example made our lives better. He now proceeds us into the next life and will be there to help us then. I love and miss you Doug but I am sure God took you in the palm of his hand and delivered you into heaven.

Doug was one of the most open, friendly, giving people I have ever met. As someone at his wake mentioned, he had a way of making everyone feel that he was their best friend.

I strive to meet his example.

Godspeed Doug.

I've known Doug for approximately 15 years - I never saw him without a huge smile on his face and a warm welcome. We need more Doug's in the world - I will miss him. Laird
